In the past someone who retired may make a bit extra from doing a bit of garden maintenace as I do. I get a number of calls from all over Gosport for gardening, which I cannot deal with. I wondered why there are less people doing this. I now feel this is due to retired people losing or worried about losing the minimum income guarentee, insurance, tax and licences, were not a problem 20 years ago. If you would like to try to gain a little extra income and help people in your local area, within walking/ cycling distance, I am willing to advise what I have found. I am thinking of adding a page of suggestions for ‘New Gardeners’.Eg.

1)

Start doing a garden in one road on a regular basis, with your tools etc on view to show you are doing the garden for the owner, after a few weeks of good work someone will ask if you would do their garden, and it builds from there, at no cost

2)

Get a Web Site (I know someone who will do it from £22 per month plus £20 for 2 years domain registration) and your details details on this site, that would be at no cost.

3)

Work out the size and type of work that suits you best and the amount of waste that you can comfortably deal with
